Inthe spring of 2006, Calvin Ayre, the poster boy for the predominantly criminal world of online gaming, appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine's Billionaire issue. Ayre is a BC product, once involved with Russian criminals, drug smuggling, and stock market crime, now claiming to be a billionaire through another illegal activity, online gambling.

Given that Ayre claims some $6 billion passes through his hands annually, practically all of it from American victims, one would have expected the various gaming authorities that have licenced his Bodog.com to have made some checks on him. It appears they may have asked for little more than an electricity bill in his name.

The purpose of this ongoing Cold Eye investigation is to provide information to those millions of potential depositors at Ayre's online gaming ventures. The premise of the Cold Eye is that those deposits should not be made and that the list of Ayre victims that began with Bicer Medical stockholders and progressed through several intermediate business failures should not be added to.

The best evidence for that is Ayre's history as accurately laid out here, supplemented by the words and images he now spews out from the Bodog sites, including his own hypernarcissistic blog. The fair use doctrine of copyright law is potentially the greatest weapon available to counter Calvin Ayre's victim financed media campaign to paint himself up a something he is not, beginning with the outlandish claim that he is a billionaire and leading on to the worst claim of all, that he is someone the global public can trust with their money and a fair chance at winning.

A Life of Dishonesty and Subterfuge

This investigation details Ayre's murky and controversial past, a past characterized by dishonesty and subterfuge and betrayal of trust. It deals on an ongoing basis with his extraordinary open appearances in the United States despite overwhelming evidence, including his own public omissions, that he is carrying on an enterprise that is exactly the same as those for which others have been indicted under US law, extradited, and sentenced to lengthy penitentiary terms. A criminal enterprise that adversely affects the lives of millions of Americans. He claims to be the best there is at it and to have become a billionaire by living parasitically on human desperation, destruction, and despair.

Our work touches on other people as well. We examine the celebrities who have either knowingly or unwittingly contributed to a campaign of extraordinary spin designed to portray a decidedly amateurish con man as a celebrity and someone to be emulated.

This investigation as well looks at how Calvin Ayre is allowed to operate in an industry that shows many similarities with the global trade in hard drugs. We look at how Ayre moves openly in the US and distributes in the US, Canada, Costa Rica, and many other places money which is by any definition but his, the proceeds of crime. We ask why no authorities, including the Americans, are doing anything about a man who in 1990 has as his declared aim in life that of being the world's top money launderer.

Extraordinary Contrast With Political Extradition of Emery

There is an important BC angle in our investigation of Ayre. Ayre openly flaunts his criminal activity in the United States, where most of his victims are. He is in the United States almost weekly, is the public face of online crime directed at the United States, and is not arrested. He launders the proceeds of crime throughout America and nothing is done. Three British Columbians, Marc Emery, Greg Williams, and Michelle Rainey are also accused of internet crime, the sale of marijuana seeds to US customers. They are accused of money laundering for sending the proceeds of marijuana sales back to the United States to support marijuana legalization efforts there. The United States has requested their extradition from Canada. The contrast is extraordinary.
